Hatch Rest and Rest+ 2nd gen: the original owner invites
Hatch’s access article names both second-generation models. The original registered owner can invite up to four additional users by the email used for their Hatch Sleep account. An invited caregiver cannot invite more people; that request goes back to the original owner.
In the selected device’s settings, the Access area provides the invitation and removal flows. The article describes removing a person by email, but does not separately define exclusive removal permissions. It does not establish simultaneous-control limits or how ownership transfers. Do not apply a one-connection rule from an older Rest to these generations.
Use your own accounts and the documented invitation flow. The Rest 2nd gen and Rest+ 2nd gen pages keep their different power and schedule capabilities separate.
Nanit: Camera-app access is a narrower pathway
For Sound + Light controls inside the Nanit Camera app, a caregiver must be added separately to the parenting team for both devices. Access to the camera team alone is insufficient. Sound + Light still needs setup in its dedicated app; it is not replaced by the Camera app.
The documented Camera-app panel provides on/off, brightness, volume and status. Routine editing is not among those controls. This evidence does not establish another user’s full permissions in the dedicated Sound + Light app, so Nanit Sound + Light does not pass our dedicated-app-sharing filter.
Nanit’s limit of two local connections belongs to audio monitoring, not a general count of caregivers or simultaneous routine editors. A device reset removes saved networks, Favorites, Routines and other settings. That is a different operation from removing a person’s access, and does not establish an ownership-transfer procedure.
Tommee Connected and Smart Snail need different checks
Tommee’s US product page identifies code 42310710 and app control. Its Australian GroClock Connect support describes Share Device invitations by message, email or link, plus organizing devices in Homes and Rooms. The reviewed sources do not prove that regional sharing flow for the exact US code. The US model is therefore excluded when dedicated app sharing is essential; ordinary remote control remains a separate supported feature.
The exact Smart Snail manual includes device sharing through the Skip Hop app. A compatible iPhone or iPad must still be within Bluetooth range. The manual does not establish a user ceiling, exclusive invite/remove roles, simultaneous connection count or ownership transfer. An invitation does not remove the local connection requirement.
For a no-app clock, hand over the button sequence
With an on-device model such as MELLA or ZAZU Sam, another caregiver uses the physical controls instead of joining an app. Write down how to enable the selected mode and which lock setting is active. A lock being present is not evidence that a child cannot change the clock.
Check the distinction between initial app setup and everyday controls. A device may offer some phone-free actions without letting a caregiver change every schedule on its buttons.
Make a handover that can be followed
Record the device owner, the actual control surface, whether the invitation was accepted and any separate device enrollment. Let the next caregiver find the documented controls using their own access. Keep the exact manufacturer instructions with the plan; do not reset or remove an account as a substitute for a documented transfer.
Add a household fallback for lost power, internet or account access. Battery operation and saved settings are different protections. Agree on the signal’s meaning, then use the schedule planner to keep the chosen times and scoped caregiver notes in one printable sheet.
